A brand is more than what it sells.
A distinctive brand is known for far more than the product that carries its name. Most of us have one we are loyal to beyond reason, or one that makes an impulse buy feel inevitable.
Brands hold memories: of places we have been, things we have done and people we think of when we see them.
Advertising should add to that meaning. Yet media is bought across channels that each have their own fields, formats and habits. A brand’s intent gets trimmed to fit, and part of what makes it distinct is lost on the way.
