Introducing Semicola
Today we are opening Semicola: one place where advertisers, media companies and the agents working for them can buy and sell every kind of advertising.
Why now
Agents can already do much of the work that fills a media planner's week. They can read a brief, find inventory that fits, compare offers and draft a plan in minutes. The hard part is not speed. It is keeping what makes a brand distinct intact while the work multiplies across sellers, channels and markets.
Most of today's buying systems were built to move impressions, not intent. Each channel has its own fields and formats, and a brief loses a little of its meaning every time it is squeezed into one of them. We think agents can do better than that, as long as they share a language and work inside rules people set.
What Semicola does
- For advertisers, Semicola turns one brief into proposals from the sellers you choose. Work in Claude, ChatGPT or the Semicola app, or connect your own agent over MCP. Your rules, approvals and campaign history travel with every request.
- For media companies, Semicola is a storefront: a listing buyers and their agents can browse, plus an optional hosted storefront agent that answers briefs in your voice, at your prices and under your AI Business Rules.
- For agents, Semicola is one account-resolved MCP endpoint. Call
tools/list, read what the account can do, and start with discovery.
How we make money
We take 0% of media. Listing a storefront is free, and so is connecting and placing buys. Where Semicola does intelligent work for you, such as composing a proposal or running a buy through a storefront agent, we charge in Intelligence Units, priced up front.
Built on AdCP
Everything in Semicola speaks AdCP, the open Ad Context Protocol. That means a buyer agent built elsewhere can reach a Semicola storefront, and a seller's own sales agent can sit behind one. No bespoke integrations, no lock-in.
What comes next
We are onboarding advertisers and media companies in waves. If you want in, create an account or open a storefront, and if you build agents, start with the agent brief.
